The incorporated 4 steps optical Image Stabiliser helps to obtain sharp images in a low light conditions. 4 steps stabilisation means, that if at 1/125 s. and determined focal length we can produce, without stabiliser, a good quality photo, with Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS we should be able to obtain the same results at 1/8 s.
